James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley, confirmed the start of filming on social media, while other cast members also shared signs from the set.
The production delay had become one of the biggest questions surrounding the Paramount+ drama. Earlier plans pointed to filming in May, then later in August, before the schedule shifted again to September. Jordan had previously said production would continue into the first quarter of 2027.
Fort Worth Returns as the Production Base
Landman is set in the oil-rich world of West Texas, but Fort Worth has served as a major filming location for the series. The third season is again using the North Texas area, with production activity reported in Fort Worth and nearby Haslet.
The first dated filming schedule included work between September 24 and September 30, although production is expected to continue well beyond those initial days. The return to Fort Worth also gives the show access to locations and production infrastructure that have already helped shape its visual identity.
Taylor Sheridan Is Still Writing the New Episodes
Sheridan remains closely involved with Season 3, with cast members indicating that scripts were still being developed as production approached. Jordan previously said the season would contain 10 episodes and that the creative team was aiming to maintain the tone established in the first two seasons.
Jordan has also suggested that Season 3 will pick up from the previous storyline rather than making a major time jump. That could be important for viewers who have been waiting to see what happens next to Tommy Norris and the people caught up in his increasingly complicated oil-business world.
A Major New Character Joins the Cast
Season 3 is also expanding its cast with Michael Kelly, known for roles in The Penguin and Lioness. Paramount confirmed that Kelly has joined the series as a regular character named William Crockett.
Crockett is described as the leader of the world’s largest oil management company, making him a potentially significant new force in the business side of the story. His arrival could add another layer to the corporate conflicts surrounding Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris.
