The Miami Dolphins entered the 2026 season with one of the league’s youngest rosters, and the current Dolphins depth chart reflects that approach. Malik Willis is listed as the starting quarterback, with Kyle McCord and Brady Cook behind him. De’Von Achane remains the lead running back, while Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II provide depth at the position.
Miami’s roster changed significantly during the offseason, and several young players have been pushed into prominent roles. The team finalized its initial 53-man roster on August 30, with two quarterbacks and a young group of skill-position players among the headline decisions.
Malik Willis Leads the Quarterback Room
Willis has taken the most important spot on the depth chart. The former Green Bay Packers quarterback is followed by McCord, a 2026 addition, while Cook is listed third. The quarterback situation is particularly important after Miami’s first three games.
Against Kansas City on September 27, Willis completed 20 of 36 passes for 210 yards without a touchdown. He also ran nine times for 56 yards, showing how his mobility can add another dimension to Miami’s offense. The Dolphins lost that game 24-10, leaving them 0-3 to begin the season.
Achane Remains the Key Running Back
De’Von Achane continues to sit at the top of the running back depth chart. Jaylen Wright is listed behind him, followed by Ollie Gordon II. The Dolphins also have DJ Herman listed at fullback.
Achane had only three carries for 17 yards against Kansas City, while Gordon received 17 carries and scored Miami’s only touchdown. That split shows that the running-back rotation can change depending on the game plan and situation.
| Position | Starter | Next option |
|---|---|---|
| QB | Malik Willis | Kyle McCord |
| RB | De’Von Achane | Jaylen Wright |
| TE | Greg Dulcich | Will Kacmarek |
Young Receivers Are Taking Center Stage
The wide receiver group is another major feature of Miami’s current depth chart. Chris Bell, Caleb Douglas and Malik Washington are listed as the primary receivers, with Jalen Tolbert and Kevin Coleman Jr. among the players behind them.
Bell had four catches for 67 yards against Kansas City, including a 44-yard reception. Washington added five catches for 56 yards, while tight end Greg Dulcich also recorded five catches. The numbers give Miami several young targets to build around as the season continues.
Offensive Line Has a New Look
The offensive line also reflects the Dolphins’ younger roster. Patrick Paul is listed at left tackle, Kadyn Proctor at left guard, Aaron Brewer at center, Jonah Savaiinaea at right guard and Austin Jackson at right tackle.
Several backups are also young players, including Chukwuebuka Godrick, Jarrett Kingston and Caedan Wallace. That creates an important depth question because injuries can quickly force inexperienced players into larger roles.
Defense Brings More Changes
Miami’s defense has undergone its own reshaping. The current depth chart lists Chop Robinson and Josh Uche on the edges, while Zach Sieler and Zeek Biggers are among the defensive tackles. Jordyn Brooks and Jacob Rodriguez are listed prominently at linebacker.
The secondary features players including Julius Brents, Jason Marshall, Dante Trader Jr., Michael Taaffe and Zayne Anderson. With so many young players involved, the depth chart could continue changing as coaches evaluate performance and matchups throughout the season.
